Don’t do this in Portugal

 

Don’t speak or ask in Spanish or call them hispanic.

Go to Portugal on a diet.

Don’t ask directly. Don’t forget to ask questions without first offering, “Bom dia,” (good morning) or “Boa tarde,” (good afternoon) greeting and always answer with “obrigado” (thanks) because Portuguese are very polite.

Ask for “coffee” You will get espresso. Ask for a “bica”.

So you like beer. Please don’t order a cerveja grande (big beer).

Call enchidos sausages. Portuguese, sausages are salsichas (frankfurters).

Don’t wear high-heels.

Don’t go to Tourist Restaurants. 

Not to order a Francesinha. It is just the typical Ham and cheese sandwich.

Drink wine like you do in your home country. Wine is sweet.
